FM 200 /Clean
Agent systems are the new solutions to replace Halon 1301 in fire protection
applications.
Today, FM 200,
chemically known as heptafluoropropane, is a colorless, non-toxic gas, and a
clean, effective fire suppression agent. It is the NEW environmentally
acceptable solution after the manufacturing of Halon 1301 was prohibited after
Dec. 1993. It does not deplete the stratospheric ozone. It is a viable long term
replacement agent and is Underwriters Laboratory listed. In addition, it is
accepted for occupied space protection in the current NFPA standards for
alternative for halon.
In industry and
commercial settings, the need for clean, efficient, effective fire protection
that protects expensive and highly technical equipment is required.
