The Afex monitor employs solid state electronics without a microprocessor. This makes the monitor less vulnerable to false alarms.

The Afex system uses self-restoring, spot thermal detectors hat are shock and vibration resistant.

The Alex squib uses a 3 amp current versus a 1/2 amp to decrease sensitivity and eliminate false discharges.

The Afex monitor uses both audible and visual alarms to alert the operator.
